Tropical Forest Protection, Mai Ndombe
Situated by lake Mai Ndombe in the Congo Basin, home to 20 bonobos and 30 forest elephants, the Mai Ndombe project not only reduces forest and biodiversity loss in the world's second largest rainforest but is providing community prosperity through vital investments in the local area.

Charles Cameron & Associates helped plant over 13,000 mangrove trees in Maroalika in Madagascar. Mangroves store more carbon than traditional forests and provide multiple benefits to coastal communities like storm protection and water filtration. Moreover, each tree removes around 308kg of CO2 from the atmosphere throughout its life cycle.

“We wanted to do something to give back to the environment. As an ethically-minded and socially-conscious company, we feel it is important that we minimise our impact on the planet, and every little helps! We started researching the most effective ways of offsetting our own footprint, and that research led us to Earthly. Their scope and variety of projects are impressive. They have helped us understand our impact and give us access to a great range of highly worthwhile projects that we can be truly proud to support.”
Alice Volpi, Marketing Manager at Charles Cameron & Associates
Founded in 2004, Charles Cameron has grown from a 6-advisors company to one of the UK’s leading brokerages, specialising in Employee Financial Wellbeing by offering Mortgage Advice services to UK corporations.
Driven by their passion for providing quality education and financial guidance for existing and future homeowners, Charles Cameron’s mission is to support their clients every step of the way during their home-buying journey. At Earthly, we’re committed to helping Charles Cameron’s throughout their climate journey.
Being a people-first focussed business is one of Charles Cameron’s core values, forging long-term relationships with each client. This value is reflected in Earthly’s goal of restoring nature by improving the livelihoods of those most impacted by climate change.
Partnering with Earthly has made Charles Cameron’s ’ climate journey easier and more impactful. The Earthly dashboard allows them to visualise their investments in nature thanks to concrete comparisons. At a glance, they can see how many tonnes of carbon they’ve removed, how many sq/m are covered, and the equivalent of the number of km driven in a car or hours flown. It puts complex data in perspective.
“It helps grasp the scale of the impact we are having. The little steps make you realise what’s happening and that what you’re doing is making a difference for the environment,” explains Alice.
Transparency and visualisation are essential in their climate journey; in return, they’ve shared their commitment with their clients. For each mortgage or insurance policy their clients complete, they plant one tree via our Mangrove regeneration project in Madagascar and two trees for each remortgage and referral. This action helps bring awareness to a bigger audience, proving that every little step counts.
Charles Cameron’s has pledged to help restore the planet and has created an Environmental Sustainability Policy, aiming to integrate a philosophy of sustainable development into their activities, which are core to the conduct of their business, and to establish and promote sound environmental practice in their operations.
