Sustainability goal: Net zero embodied carbon at Ferne Park
Earthly changemaker since 2025
Biggest win: 4,401 tCO2e balanced
Kingsbridge set out to make Ferne Park a benchmark for sustainable industrial development, aiming for net zero embodied carbon, BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ and EPC A+ ratings and a biodiversity net gain beyond statutory requirements.
To meet these goals, Kingsbridge partnered with Earthly to support high-quality, verified projects including regenerative farming in India and peatland protection in Indonesia, delivering measurable benefits for climate, nature, and local communities.
Kingsbridge balanced 4,401 tCO₂e of embodied carbon, enabling Ferne Park to achieve net zero embodied carbon status. Alongside BREEAM ‘Outstanding’, EPC A+, and 25% biodiversity net gain, the project demonstrates real progress toward sustainable industrial development.

"Ferne Park represents our strongest commitment yet to delivering sustainable development. By working with Earthly, we were able to measure, reduce, and balance embodied carbon to the UKGBC Gold Standard, giving us and our stakeholders confidence that our climate actions are transparent, credible, and impactful."
Kingsbridge chose Earthly for our ability to deliver verified, high-quality nature-based solutions aligned with international frameworks. Our platform ensured Ferne Park’s embodied carbon could be credibly balanced while creating measurable benefits for climate, nature, and communities.
Transparency and independent verification built trust with stakeholders and gave confidence that their climate actions were robust and credible.
By partnering with Earthly, Kingsbridge strengthened its ESG delivery and achieved UKGBC Gold Standard recognition for embodied carbon, setting a strong foundation for future projects.
Benefitting people, nature and climate around the world
Through this initiative, Kingsbridge is helping restore farmland across the Indo-Gangetic Plains. Already spanning 41,000 hectares, the project avoids crop-residue burning, improves water efficiency by 22%, and boosts farmer incomes. By 2029 it aims to expand to more than 815,000 hectares, transforming soil health, cutting emissions, and building resilience for thousands of smallholder farmers.
Discover projectKingsbridge is supporting the protection of over 47,000 hectares of tropical peatland forest in Rimba Raya, one of the most carbon-dense ecosystems on Earth. By preventing conversion to palm oil plantations, the project avoids more than 100 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions, safeguards a vital habitat for endangered orangutans, and supports surrounding communities with clean energy, healthcare, and sustainable livelihoods.
