Amazon Rainforest Protection, Madre de Dios
This is a world-class REDD+ project focusing on rainforest conservation in the heart of Peru. This project reduces deforestation in over 300,000 hectares of the Peruvian Amazon through a sustainable market for forest Brazil nuts, stopping deforestation and supporting the livelihood of 400 families.

Peatland Protection, Rimba Raya
The Rimba Raya Biodiversity Reserve project is protecting one of the most highly endangered ecosystems in the world. Without this project, the carbon-rich, peatland forest of Rimba Raya would have been turned into palm oil estates, emitting over 100 million tonnes of carbon into the atmosphere.

Founded in London, Difference Coffee sells the world’s rarest coffee in capsules. Selecting the top 1% of specialty coffees in the world through aroma, flavour and aftertaste, its mission is to provide clients with the tastiest coffee in the most responsible way.
For Amir Gehl, founder of Difference Coffee, high quality comes hand-in-hand with sustainability, that’s why the coffee selected is sustainably grown and ethically sourced. With such focus, climate action was the natural next step for Difference Coffee. “Any company that produces anything produces carbon dioxide. So, it’s really important for us to offset all of our damage: it’s called being responsible,” he explains.
But getting started on a climate positive journey and making its business more conscious can be confusing and it’s easy to get lost in the complexity of the field. That’s how Amir discovered Earthly, and how we helped Difference Coffee take action. “Carbon accounting and finding the right solutions can be a minefield. Earthly just made it happen,” says Amir.
For Difference Coffee, the challenge was all about finding the right partner, that could both help with carbon accounting, guide throughout the process and provide with practical solutions to reduce carbon emissions.
Taking it step-by-step was key to help Difference Coffee and make climate action easier. We started by doing a full life-cycle analysis that gave insights on the production, all the way to the manufacturing of the pods in Europe. With all this information, we were able to fully calculate the carbon footprint of each and every one of their coffee products and offset this by 150% with our high-quality nature-based solutions.
