In 2021, Scott Logic formalised its commitment to align with the Paris Agreement goal of limiting global warming to 1.5℃ above pre-industrial levels and to accelerate progress toward net zero well ahead of 2050. The company set science-based targets to reduce their emissions by 50% by 2030 and to reach net zero by 2040. They also introduced a target for carbon neutrality by 2028, using it as a self-imposed financial incentive to drive emission reductions while contributing to broader climate efforts.
By 2024, Scott Logic had reduced their emissions by a whopping 69% - well ahead of schedule. With support from Earthly, Scott Logic also made more impactful nature investments, achieving their carbon neutrality target ahead of time too. These efforts have also helped lay longer-term foundations for safeguarding the natural environment in the UK and beyond. Earthly has been a consistent partner in Scott Logic’s ambition to demonstrate climate leadership among its peers, industry, and clients by going beyond minimum requirements.

Scott Logic aims to build an impactful portfolio that incorporates high-quality, formally verified carbon offsets, in regions disproportionately affected by climate change. They also support forward-looking, UK-based projects to ensure a positive impact on local nature. They were one of the first businesses to invest in our pioneering Voluntary Biodiversity Credits through the Iford Estate project.
They chose to work with Earthly for our rigorous project verification, which evaluates climate impact alongside benefits to biodiversity and local communities. Like Earthly, Scott Logic believe that broader social values and long-term ambitions should guide their approach to addressing environmental impact.
Benefitting people, nature and climate around the world
Through this initiative, Scott Logic is helping to restore over 150,000 hectares of farmland in Kenya’s Upper Tana watershed. The project has planted over 3 million trees, improved water quality for 9 million people, and supports vital hydropower infrastructure. It also helps over 165,000 farmers boost incomes and improve livelihoods, especially among women-led households.
Discover projectScott Logic is helping restore 15.2 hectares of wet woodland in East Ayrshire, Scotland. Over its lifetime, the project is expected to sequester 6,140 tonnes of CO₂. It also enhances habitats for native wildlife, promotes ecological balance, and creates ways for people to engage with nature and conservation.
Discover projectScott Logic is supporting dryland restoration in Ethiopia’s Tembien Highlands. The project's indigenous tree planting and grazing exclusion initiatives have improved ecosystem health and sequestered over 100,000 tonnes of CO₂. It also boosts and supports biodiversity while directing 60% of carbon revenue to local communities to improve their livelihoods.
Discover projectIndus Delta is the world’s largest mangrove restoration site. The project has reforested over 73,000 hectares, sequestered 5.4 million tonnes of CO₂, and supports 42,000 people through clean water, education, and sustainable jobs. Scott Logic’s support is helping scale this impact for both nature and local communities.
Discover projectIford Estate in the South Downs is turning degraded farmland into native woodland, boosting carbon capture and supporting over 1,000 species. The project also improves air and water quality, reduces flood risk, and creates public access. Scott Logic’s support advances this nature-led effort and supports national climate goals.
Discover projectThis initiative is helping over 51,000 farmers cut emissions, improve soil health, and boost incomes through regenerative farming like reducing synthetic fertilizers. Scott Logic’s support helps scale this transformation toward sustainable agriculture.
Discover projectScott Logic is supporting a pioneering seaweed farming project in Cornwall that’s removing carbon, restoring marine biodiversity, and producing sustainable materials. The initiative also boosts local economies through green jobs, eco-tourism, and education—helping build a circular economy for climate and community benefit.
Discover projectThis project is restoring native woodland in Devon’s Culm Moor Nature Reserve, reconnecting habitats and supporting biodiversity. With support from Scott Logic, it’s also improving air and water quality while offering public access to nature. Their work contributes to the UK’s climate and nature recovery goals.
Discover projectThis project in Kenya’s Mount Kenya region helps smallholder farmers restore land through agroforestry. Over 11 million trees have been planted to date. With support from Scott Logic, it’s boosting biodiversity, improving livelihoods, and promoting women’s leadership.
Discover projectThis project protects peatland in Indonesian Borneo, preventing massive carbon emissions and preserving habitat for endangered wildlife. It also supports local communities through clean energy, education, and sustainable livelihoods. Scott Logic’s support helps make this critical climate and conservation work possible.
Discover projectA community-led project in Mozambique’s Sofala Province restoring Miombo woodlands and developing agroforestry systems to ease pressure on native forests.
